so ive beaten yior again (cause my pokemon got deleted right after beating her last nigh) and now after i did the first genirator they got deleted again soft reset dosent do anything its been a blast playing though and reviving pokemon still makes it act as if they are not alive so for example i have 6 pokemon 3 are dead i revive one of the fainted pokemon its revived and able to switch in sure but it still acts as if i only have three pokemon left making revive strats almost impossible other then those bugs and ocasionally falling through the map the game has been great

you must've got the nuzlocke version

lol

(1 edit)

hope your game gets fixed though mines buggy too hope the developers not freaking out too much lol

(1 edit)

so I'm playing the new version of the demo how do i bring save data over

(+1)

Shiny Pokémon but I can't catch it. Is the shiny rate increased? The game is amazing but hard to play because of the bugs.

(1 edit)

cant play pokemon wont even come out of the ball. I know youre cooking cause im hypo af to play regardless but please fix and dont give up make this the best shit ever!!

Amazing game just based off the demo so far. Of course it comes with its bugs and other issues but amazing regardless. One bug I have encountered is when I fight a team magma grunt, no pokemon of mine is sent out and its just my character standing staring at the opponents pokemon, only was able to reslove this by restarting the game. Outside of that the graphics look amazing and the music is great.

I have two things to say in the 20 minutes I've been playing this demo:

1. The game is very delicate. To avoid crashing, I have to let everything load on its own and press the right keys until I actually start playing.

2. This is a question of mine. I understand that the starter Pokémon can be shiny. To find out, is it enough to look at the sprite that appears above the Pokeballs, or do I have to start the battle?

not sure if the features in the demo but in the trailers, it said you should be able to see before battle.

I tested it myself you can see them as shiny before the battle I got a shiny treeko

Great demo so far! A little buggy but playable as long as you save regularly, soft reset feature is a lifesaver. A couple bugs I've encountered so far: Shiny pokemon evolving into regular types :(, graphical issue where 2 pokemon come out at the same time when battling, team being labeled as "button text" and becoming unplayable, and picking up the starter beldum but not having it join the party. Also when learning new moves it would be nice to see what the actual move is/does, same with the ones I'm replacing. Overall, having a very fun time and I'm sure all this stuff will be fixed soon with updates

(1 edit)

The game is kind of unplayable no matter what I do it either freezes or get stuck. I enjoy the game a lot though it looks beautiful there's just a lot of bugs

hope you can fix some

on the third magma grunt my torchic kept fainting his Pokémon which led to infinite xp.

also, the game keeps freezing in the middle of every battle after the fourth trainer leading into me having to save after everyone.

my Pokémon turned into another Pokémon idk why lmao.

and my torchic lost all its moves and levels after beating the first grunt.

But really do enjoy the game can't wait to see it grow just putting some of the complications I had while playing.

i cant get past the grunt with the vulpix each time i knock it out the game repeats exp gain

happened to me also I fainted the Pokémon with a different one of mine and it fixed it not sure if that helps but hopefully!

i'll try

The game still needs a lot of work but it has a great direction to follow.

Besides the bugs, the game needs more rebalencing, for the first 10 or more encounter i had where Wurmples. It also didn't help that every 3 steps i took in the grass it started a battle.

Also the 3rd magma guy had a Numel, and starting with a Treecko i through i was doomed, but the trainer's AI was very dumb and only used ember once on my Wurmple.

In conclusion: Rebalence rate of the pokemons, make the AI make better decisions and fix the bugs.

on the third magma battle I had torchic and he wouldn't stop leveling after I beat him but he was only getting around 200xp so he was leveling so slow

Does anyone have any way to prevent the game from crashing? I'm asking, just in case there's an option...

I exited out then back in and it worked fine just wouldn't work the first time booting it up

Im trying to run in my notebook, which i know its not great for games, but the game is running into a error that never happend to me, it says "out of video memory". Does anyone knows hot to fix it?

Same, trying to run the game on my less than ideal computer but it won't open. It should at least be fine to play this game if even Genshin can sputter along.

I just lost my whole roster :( anything I can do?

happened to me too I soft reset and everything was back to normal

If anyone is having a "Pure virtual function being called" or a similar error, I think it's because you have to download one of the launchers to play the game in! If you go to the creators YouTube channel his most recent announcement video has links to either game launcher: GameJolt or Itch.io's! Hope this helps!!! I tried this when I had the issue and everything worked for me.

I have the launcher and the game still crashes.

Is there anyway you can archive the previous versions of the game for historical reasons? :)

Besides the bugs I'm sure a majority of people are mentioning I would like to mention some QOL improvements. The first one being when selecting an attack during a pokemon battle it should remember the slot/spot last used so when you are attacking it will be already hovered over the previous attack. Similar to the games. Another change might be the rate at which pokemon show up in the grass, it might be a bit too much, very minorly reducing the rate would help along with adding a higher span of steps taken in grass for higher randomized chance so it doesn't feel so clockwork. Very solid demo though, having fun with it so far!

(+2)

Great demo, game looks amazing! I've only found one bug so far, and that's related to the pokeball with the beldum. I was pressing space to mash through the dialogue telling me I got it, and accidentally interacted with the ball (invisible now) again, which gave me the same text again. Weirdly enough, it didn't actually add a beldum to my party.

Iambegrimed is spot on with the most relevant issues, I would add in that the starter pack (Mystery Code on X) wipes your current inventory when you receive the items. Typing this I see there's a new patch, still going to attach this just in case.  Awesome game man, take your time and iron it out slowly.  You're killing it.

Can confirm, Mystery Gift clears current inventory in newest patch.

After I select New Game the game freezes and crashes. I tried running it as Admin but it didn't help. This is what I copied from one of the crash messages:

Super fun so far, but as stated, there are a lot of bugs to work through.

Trainer battles will start, but our character will never show up and the battle never actually begins.  You just get stuck in the pre-battle animations, staring at the opposing trainer.  Reset is required to fix.

This one seemed oddly specific, but when catching a Lotad (and ONLY Lotad) in the first area, the very next encounter has no Pokemon and you get locked in the battle screen with no options.  You must soft reset to fix.  And then after resetting, if catching another Lotad, the same issue happens.  I haven't had this bug occur outside of catching a Lotad in the first area.

When buying items, sometimes the quantities you buy are not correctly added to inventory, but the full price is deducted from your funds.

A beneficial bug-- if you have a status condition (poison, paralysis, etc), save the game and reload your save, the status condition will be wiped away. :)

Not a bug, but the encounter rates need to be dialed down.  I'm getting locked into back-to-back-to-back battles in grassy areas, and sometimes it's very frustrating to just try and walk.  Even turning down the frequency by about 20% would help immensely.

That's what I've found so far after only about 30 minutes of actual playtime.  This game has a ton of promise, and aesthetically, it's one of my favorite Pokemon experiences yet.

Also, give an option for windowed mode, please. :)

Another issue-- when a Pokemon learns a new move post-battle, instead of being given the option to forget an old move to make room for the new move, it's instead just added onto the list of moves.  The issue here is, when battling, you can only access the first 4 moves on the list.  So, any newly learned moves are inaccessible.  I've looked around and can't find a way to correct this issue within the Pokemon summary screen.  Anyone find a resolution for this?

my graphic card starts to overheat after a minute of game, it's a amd 6600. I can't play

I assume we cant play with a randomizer just yet?

for some reason my game is more broken today? i'm unsure what heppened. i updated the game. not sure? hope it gets fixed. i crash alot more.

why keep pokemon keep not move during battle i did many force close game keep gone my file save sigh i want keep forward play

Amazing game so far, but it has taken me a while to work through though due to some bugs I’ve found:

- after each battle I immediately fall through the floor and out of bounds which leads to a lot of resetting until it suddenly decides not to, my solution is holding down one of the arrow keys as I leave battle and it seems to pop me back up before I fall (this doesn’t always work however)

- my starter pokemon disappeared a few times in the beginning

- some moves, abilities aren’t quite accurate (my Psyduck hasn’t learnt any moves at lv.20, bullet seed is ground type, kecleon doesnt change types when hit)

- sometimes in battle I get stuck before the animation to throw my pokemon into battle

Besides these bugs, the game is beautiful and can’t wait for the full version.

thanks for all the hard work :)

How can i change to my Screen Resolution? Or How can i play in Window Mode?

Having the same issue

Game looks gorgeous! I love this 2.5D art! Keep the awesome work and this game will be a legend!

Unfortunately, the demo is really buggy, i can't play it pass the first battle against team Magma. First time i tried, my starter became glitched and at the start of every battle the game softlocks. Second time i tried starting a new game, the menus became glitched at the first battle against team magma.

Hoping to see a stable release at some point!

on of the team magma grunt members in the first zone keeps hard crashing my character and i can't soft reset. it's happened twice. i'll get you the name of the grunt so you can check out what's wron.

Please list somewhere in the game that you will be sent back to a previous save when you faint.  This should not be something we find out by fainting.

I love the game, but here's some bugs and things I saw to improve the experience:

- When you press the run button, and stop, the character goes one step more, each click should be 1 step, not 2, that's weird for me.
- In the first team magma battel, I had an issue: I couldn't fight them, I clicked the fight button with the mouse and almost all the keys in my keyboard and I couldn't do nothing, I can't advance the game.
- When you first start walking in the world, I think you can't run. I tried almost all keys too to run, I don't know if you can run if you advance in the game, but it felt too annoying to me, because it's kinda slow.

Good job with the game anyways!!

when I try to launch the game it says "fatal error", only that. does anyone know how I fix this? maybe its my bad specs idk alot about stuff like this :(

Same but I'm trying to run it on my phone using emulators, I got as far as a couple credit screens and then frozen but usually fatal error.

Bugs:

1. Lost all my pokemon but kept my save data.
Can still encounter pokemon but can't battle them
Same with Team Magma Grunts

Soft resetting or restarting game didn't do anything.

2. Mudkips Evolution Line can learn Aqua Tail twice.

Overall:
Well done on the game, runs really well minus the bugs of course but its great!

I really want to play this game but I keep encountering a problem where the full screen window doesn’t fit my laptop screen. Is there anyway to fix it? This is the only problem I am encountering. It won’t allow me to play the game because of it.

Absolutely phenomenal game! Great story, amazing visuals, and some genuinely funny characters.
With 2 hours of gameplay, these are the bugs i've run into:
- Pressing 'Run' will break the UI of battles requiring a reset
- Saving will remove pokemon from the PC
- Pokemon in Let Out mode either will briefly appear as a different model or won't have a model at all
- You can get caught in encounter loops in a single block of Grass (moving in a different direction fixes this)
- Shinies do not stay shiny during the evolution scene, but will return to their shiny state after
- Mudkip learns Aqua Tail twice
- the Healing section of the bag needs a bit of tweaking. Potions themselves have no info, and having more than one item in it seems to confuse the UI
- When Beldum evolves, the model stays a beldum
- Certain trainer battles can shift the player's position on the tile they were standing on
- After the stampede in Ashen Forest, models may reappear around the player for a brief moment after battles
- You can continue to move some after a wild battle is triggered
- There is a magma grunt you can "move through" in AshenForest to the right of the terminal (south of the delibird stand)
- Paralyzed pokemon will break the game. Causes the last pokemon to continue to recieve exp, breaks the evolution scene, and freezes the player in place
- Boulders in Ashen Forest are able to be walked through
- Merc. Yior (i forgot how to spell her name) battle crashes the game. I did receive a crash report, but the game closed before i could read it.

All in all, once you figure out how to work around some of the bugs (lots of saving and soft resetting) it's a genuinely good game and i'm blown away by it. 10/10 will continue to keep playing.

My suggestion are: I feel the game a bit slow when you walk and you do stuff... and the blur on the top side of the view is frustrating.
Fights are incredible.
I would love to have a menu to costumize graphic and controls options. Thank you!

Pls help :(

Try making a firewall exception for the game. Go to Windows Security → Firewall → Allow an app through the firewall → Add an app → find PokemonEmerald.exe, and try running it as an administrator.

It didn't work for me :(

ty <33

Bugs I’ve experienced so far after playing for 40 minutes

1. stuck in battle stage. There will be moments where I hit an attack and then I am just caught spectating with no options.

2. cannot swap Pokemon after using item

3. Text blocks on potions.

4. During battle my Pokemon is off screen and behind the trees

Why my pokemon cant learn new moves?

Are the starters shiny in the balls, like when I click on the ball will the pokemon be shiny in it or do I have to select it and check?

Combuskens move 'Bounce' never comes back down for the second turn and soft locks the game.
