I got lucky with a shiny Treecko and when i go into battle my pokemon never comes out and when i check the summary it has 0 stats and IVs and the sprite changed into Bellosom facing backwards. Should I just restart?
Very cool demo. Lots of bugs, but I probably saw far more than most due to how I play, what with spamming buttons and backing out of menus. I recorded it, so I'll upload it if I find the time to edit it. I didn't get through the whole thing, since the bugs made me lose progress and I am sleepy, but it was fun! Excited to see where this goes!
catching pokemon seems to be a struggle. also dont know if the ship captain is suppose to heal your pokemon after you battle team magma however mine didnt heal. keep up the good work
Def very buggy, but for a one man team, and a project with no funding, i can see this being very very enjoyable. Lighting is great, music is great, graphics are great. Pretty difficult, but maybe something you can select on a later version. Some of the 2d world pieces can def be 3d, but hey, i dont know the first thing about game development. Keep it up, i think it will be very very good at version 1.0. Super cool idea, wonderful execution, just needs some more time. Love it.
i have had to start saving after every battle because it will freeze and the music will still play, i then have to soft reset all the way back to the save game is amazing just very buggy
lotad is legit impossible to catch ive tried so many times it always breaks out before first shake
mudkip is also the only starter that starts at level 15 and choosing mudkip can make you falll through the ground after battles sometimes ive also had the half step and encounter issue as well torchic is the only starter that is really usable without falling through the map that wont get one shot by team magma though so if your gunna pick one thats not mudkip then pick torchic another thing when pokemon learn new moves you cant change them out or forget old moves to replace them
after the first team magma battle for choosing your starter,I just glitch through the ground and has been stuck there. No matter how many times I retry. Awesomeness seems to be fixed now
Great game overall but a lot of freezes/softlocks. Can't catch a Lotad (it won't stay in the pokeball, I tried 20 times at red health with 10 balls and 10 greats) and a lot of Wurmple spawns. Sometimes I've been locked in the delibird shop and had to soft reset, same for some wild encounters where my trainer doesn't appear and I was locked. The UI in the menu is not as intuitive as it should be. For example, in the shop it is a bit weird to choose if I want to increase or decrease the number of items that I want to buy, then select the buy button, then accept. It will be better if it goes up when I press up, down if I press down, down by 10 if I press left and up by 10 if I press right. Then just press accept again to confirm the purchase. Also in the menus sometimes the cursor glitch if I move with the joystick so I had to play entirely with xbox D-Pad. Appart from that and some minor visual glitches the game has some great potential! This little story with aqua/magma teams and the boat seems interesting and the game is visually stunning with good features and animations for the pokemons. I'm looking forward to this game's full release with improvements in the future, GREAT WORK! ^^

Got to my first encounter in the tall grass, after the first Team Magma and Aqua encounter. The wild Pysduck appeared but not my Treecko or options. So I had to close down the game. Another note, I noticed a PS5 controller doesn't seem to work. Otherwise this is looking awesome. I've been showing this to friends and I'm so looking forward to putting more time into this demo and the full release. The unique demo story already has me wanting to see what happens next. Just great work man, really great work.
Definitely some bugs, but I have to say that this short amount of time playing this was awesome. I was so excited. I was having a literal blast. This is p cool and all, but let's all be honest, Nintendo's gonna get their ninjas to eliminate this game before it can ever reach its full potential. I hate thinking this way, but Nintendo is the absolute worst of the worst when it comes to this kinda thing. Seriously, they should just leave fangames alone!

the big romhacks/fangames like infinite fusion or even the hacks alpharad has put together with team too many types havent gotten taken down. idk how much longer that mercy may last
in all honesty though, fangame developers know what they're getting into, i've taken the stance of being as positive as possible about the situation so they dont stop making art, and if they do end up getting taken down i make a point to keep a build of any project i enjoy or find interesting (you should too) so it can stay in existence in the future. the more people with a build of this game the less likely its forgotten and more likely it has a legacy like AM2R or pokemon urainium that still have large playerbases.

I want to start this by thanking UndreamedPanic, I played for a fair bit now, It's amazing and I'm ready to enjoy it, however, since I know it is a demo it is safe to point some recurrent bugs that might happen on release such as follows:
* after a couple of battles the game freezes when you encounter a new trainer
*The position of the trees sprite in the top of the square gets confusing when theres pathing behind it, as it creates the ilusion that you can walk below it but theres a wall
*when Battling inputs wouldn't work, sometimes you had to wait for the iddle animation to play so the inputs work again
*Something about the damage seems off, be type advantage or speed related in my case, a Psyduck was outhealing My Pikachu's electric move.
*Idling for a moment bugs the pokedex, it showed bellosom on all 3 pokemon catched and when battling it crashed the game.
I'm not bashing the project in any way, It is amazing what can be done with a pokemon game in comparisson to what soulless slop gamefreak has given us for the last 3 to 4 games.
Liking the idea and generally the whole game itself but i wanted to give feedback on the project while i play so,
i'm running into a few critical bugs: - generally, i walk and encounter a pkmn, then after half a step i immediately encounter another one; - sometimes, the -for now only- wild encounter "freezes" with my character pose, with no enemy pkmn spawned, and my character just looking at the empty battle scene; - when my first pkmn gets poisoned, and i switch the first and the second pkmn in order in my team, it still shows my main pkmn as poisoned, even if it's not; - the lv18 vulpix (lol flamethrower??) killed my pkmn after i switched it, and counted that kill as a complete loss, making me return to the last save; - lotad is literally uncatchable; - pokemons, after evolving, just like to change sex... my male treecko became female, and my two female wurmples (one shiny) became males, and then, male cascoons became beautiflies! the game even show me the dustox model and the line itself said "it evolved into dustox" but then, after checking, the two cascoons became beautiflies, luckily, the shiny even kept his shiny appearence; - sometimes (at least with xboxone controller) the buttons mash themselves in strange ways, like going down or up fast (didn't see well) until i stop that, and anyways the menu UI isn't so readable, sometimes i don't know in which button i'm on or maybe the "cursor" is simply buggy in some way; - (minor thing) i can spam click on the delibird-shop and "activate" it as many times as i want, making its animation repeat, and i don't think it was intended;
I've also had a lot of similar and other bugs that soft lock my game, I didn't even know where to get beldum since the cutscene after the first battle caused my character to fall through the map and the ball never spawned, I really wanted to like this game but all the issues I've been having has turned me off completely.
no linux version yet (hopefully) so you're out of luck for the time being. this release is super duper rough though, i wouldn't invest time getting this setup on your handheld until the final release or at least a later demo.
i also wouldnt 100% be confident it will run on a 50 dollar handheld, this will be much more demanding than the average pokemon fangame, if you want to know how well it will run try and get octopath traveler on it as a benchmark
the game doesnt seem to be using any real time simulated lighting because its running <150fps on my 2080 super which chugs pretty heavy on most implementations so you might have some hope
i got a steam deck too ;D. i was just curious. ive been so hyed for this demo to drop i literally made an event in my google calendar. I remember when this was project was a just for fun post circulating tik tok and Instagram back in the pandemic. the full game will be amazing

ran into a bug, pressed b on the character name screen while hovering over a character, and it switched to the screen that plays when you select a gender (character sprite in the middle with selected below them), pressing a or start didnt do anything but when i pressed b again i get the dialog box, and pressing b one more time gets me a black screen, nothing happens to the audio
soft reseting will fix this state for anyone frustrated by relaunching the game! (pause + run if you skipped the text)

yo, when mudkip is shiny he can't learn or change his attacks, also the iv's change everytime you leave and reload/soft reset the game

There seems to be a problem with the moves. i can't seem to change them out to newer learned ones.

How do I set up controllers so I can play? it's working just fine but I can't do anything since I need to use a controller and not keyboard.
If ur using a playstation controller, u gotta downlod ds4 windows. It's what I had to do to set up my dualsense edge

Great Demo. Overall promising work that really captures the feel of what an HD pixelart Pokemon game should be.
However, please remove the motion/distance blur. It never looked good in Octopath Traveler or Zelda, and it doesn't look good here.

I was having fatal error when starting a new game. This worked for me gamma-emerald-win/Windows/PokemonEmerald/Binaries/Win64 run the exe.

On Swablu has 100 % miss catch rate so ye you will have bug catch rate and somtimes you have 100 % catch rate sucess
