I just finished the demo, and while it was incredibly buggy (every issue mentioned by user @blash96 also happened to me), I still pushed through—and I’m so glad I did.
Here’s my honest take:
This is, without a doubt, one of the best Pokémon experiences I’ve had in years. I’m not including ROM hacks like Pokémon Unbound in that—this is better than any official Nintendo release since the Switch era began imo. It captures the old-school feel of what a Pokémon game should feel like, and that’s something i think fans like me (who’ve been playing since Red and Blue) have been missing for a long time.
That said, the bugs definitely affected the experience:
I constantly had to soft reset and save after nearly every step to avoid soft locks.
A major issue was the trainer not throwing Poké Balls at the start of battle.
Despite all that, the game’s Visuals and music, ARE AMAZING!.
I have no doubt the dev is aware of everything and will probably be reading the comments closely. If that’s the case, I truly believe the full game will become a classic in the fan-made Pokémon scene.
If you're looking for a real challenge in the final battle, skip the Dragonite—he can basically solo everything.
I’ve been having a lot of issues with the menuing such as the main fight menu appearing while having my bag open and the buying menu still open when closing out of the shop.
Dragonite and Onyx definitely helps in the final boss. i did not really struggle, i just used blazican and one shot all three pokemon. but the game over all was go.
I played through the entire thing now, overall a great experience! The final fight was kind of strange due to the high levels of the opponents. I was only able to beat them because I had captured Dragonite and Onyx, thus it felt like cheating. Still, for a demo it was awesome!
I also love to see that you constantly post updated versions. Looking forward to all the bug fixes :)
For pokemons that can use "bounce" it just stay in the sky forever i also experencing the infinite exp after having a battle fight with the boss/one of the main character sometimes the pokemon just not showing in the battle scene
I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH REALLY LOOKING FORWAD TO PLAY THE FINAL VERSION IT MUST BE AMAZING

AND LITTEL SUGGESTION CAN YOU SKIP ALL OF THE "GAIN EXP" IN THE BATTEL SCENE WHEN SHARING THE EXP IS ON :)
Been fiddling with this for 30 mins now and i cant get it to work with my xbox one controller at all no matter what settings i use, guess i have to play with K&M
Edit: Finally got it to work by getting a ps5 controller and using DS4Windows and setting up a profile to mimic my keyboard. But i could not get any native controller support to work of any kind.
Also, Game keeps jumping in and out of fullscreen when going into settings menu, it is kinda annoying, not gamebreaking but annoying.

I was weirded out by the Gallade fight as well, especially since the trainer has a level 40 Lucario as well. After grinding for a long time and finally beating her, I can say that you are supposed to lose that fight and that's why they have such high levels.

It seems like the chance of fighting a wild pokemon in grass is 100% directly after a previous battle in grass sometimes, so if I exit a battle and move in any direction it will start the next battle and so on over and over until I am able to exit the grass

PS: (Spoiler for those who have not finished the demo) At the end Shaymin runs away and expects us to follow it. Is it already implemented? If so, where can I find it afterwards?
It would be nice if the character we chose at the start of the game appeared on the loading screen, because only the male character appears, but it's a nice touch to have the Pokémon we have in our team appear on the loading screen.
Has anyone found a work around for the bug where you can't even walk up the first staircase? (I just walk right through it) Or will I just have to wait for it to be fixed? Starting new save files doesn't work, even uninstalling/reinstalling doesn't work for me.
battles are bugged, moves deal different damage than they should, why my dragon claw do less damage than my ember (ik there is stab but it still shouldnt do that much damage) or maybe it just says the wrong number idk
buggy, PP bugged (share with the last move), flinch and 2 turn moves also dont work, and accuracy bugged, and apparently the TM's also dont work, cuz the moves only change name but still have the same stats
I've come to ask has he fixed the PC eating your Pokémon glitch or are they still disappearing after a couple minutes or after a 3rd copy of the same Pokémon
We're basically the beta testers for this game. At least he's looking over our comments and adding a new patch every couple hours but sometimes a new patch and new fixes brings back old problems
Hi, I'm playing the demo on the desktop and have encountered bugs within the first 15 minutes of the playthrough. After evolving my mudkip after a battle with the magma grunt by the tent that needs a passkey at the PC the game froze and wouldn't allow me to move. I had to reboot to fix it. After entering the area just past the ledge I was leaving the grass and the game threw me into a battle with no pokemon present and no menu options for me to flee, had to reboot to fix the issue. Small grass patches spam pokemon battles and make it extremely difficult to leave the patch. I had one square of grass spam 4 battles.
whats up with the level scaling? going from a level 8 to a level 14 battle, then a level 20? Idk if im tripping but seems a little off. This might just be early game, and im not AGAINST level griniding, but its still a tad annoying for sure.
EDIT: I think everything looks super fucking dope!! The cinematics IN battle are awesome.
It's a demo they wanted you to get your starter up to it's final evolution for the boss fight in the Ashen Forest along with the rest of your team so you can fill in of what there is of the 52 Pokemon Pokedex, small but doable in the demo
First off, the game seems really great. Looking forward to seeing it in its full extent! The graphics are also really good looking, the artistic choice definitely seems like the right one.
Now for the bug reports: - The move "Bounce" is bugged. I tried it a few times with Combusken, but the second turn doesn't trigger and soft locks the game - Not sure how it happens because I only notice it afterward but my avatar sometimes gets "partially shifted". Meaning that the sprite appears to be slightly moved horizontally or vertically compared to the position it is supposed to be at.
Other than that, I only got the usual soft locks reported by a lot of people every now and then during battles.
Found another bug when your battling the Magma Grunt in this part of the demo after you defeat him you can't more from your location or enter into options to save that section so you have to hard reset it and the issue still happens whenever battling him.
Found a bug, went into options and enabled settings to the highest for everything, resolution on 1440p. As soon as you walk on the stairs there isn't no collision or a invisible ramp to act as stairs to allow you to walk up so you just walk straight through the mountains.

when you get to the pokeball station in the first ten min it freazes then goes all blank. BTW I LOVE THE GAME

Yeah it's possible, just a pain as the odds for shiny Beldum gift are lower than most things in the game.
Thank you mate, ye kinda easy to get shiny starter but i've been soft-reseting for beldum for like 40 minutes.
Has anyone managed to get the Beldum as a shiny yet?

I have the Problem when one of my Pokemon Evolve, after the Evolotion my game get stuck and i cant move or do anything anymore...

A level 12 Numel, a Level 18 Vulpix...
and a level 35 Gallade, this early in the game.
Kind of ridiculous for a level curve, it needs to be where the levels go up gradually instead of bosses spiking this hard in difficulty right away.
Also why is volbeat able to be female? It's a 100% male Pokemon ._.
It's a demo... chill... I highly doubt the difficulty curve will be this dramatic in the full release.

Has anyone gotten the shiny Beldum yet? I've reset it like 500 times and still haven't gotten it.
Someone has alr gotten one but theyre file corrupted so the save is deleted and shiny beldum is gone now,
Also the chances are 1/2096 for a shiny if youre wondering
