Sort of like a back up saves function. When you save your game it keeps a copy of your previous save along with your current save, so if you get softlocked by falling through the map ect you can load up your older save and continue without loosing too much progress
Save, then copy the save file from your file explorer and paste it into another separate folder somewhere.
I admit it'd be nice for it to work without any extra effort, but for now, this is the solution.
Just keep an archive yourself. You can literally keep every single save you ever make, and be fine. It takes up so little space that it doesn't matter if you have say 10, 100 or even 10,000 of them. Just make sure you know which is which I guess.
calliope battle is bugged. When she sends LeBron the game bug and nothing happens. I saved next to her before looking for the battle and when I enter into the game again, cuz I had to reboot cuz nothing was happening, is very bad bugged and I think I lost my game :(
Some major bugs and things left to added like that you can switch the positions of your attacks, also had to save after every fight because when i used a potion or revive the battle info menue (Battle/Bag/Pokemon/Escape) dissapeared and i had to restart. But besides that a really great game! cant wait until its fully released!
The sound design and the visuals are just beautiful, and this project has NOTHING but protentional and I can't wait for it to be fully released.
I know it has bugs, I've experience multiple bugs within the first couple minutes playing like game doesn't allow me to make a move during a battle because the UI isn't there and I couldn't find a way to fix this other than restarting. or if you keep going right when you're on the Pokémon summary eventually it'll have your Pokémon summary be blank but just pressing escape will fix this issue.
Overall love this game and I know the beta came out 5 days ago so I'm not upset about the bugs I'm glad to try the beta. One thing I do recommend is to make the movement more responsive. It may be because I'm playing on keyboard and mouse but being able to also play on keyboard and mouse is a plus, and I also recommend that the battle controls for keyboard and mouse be almost identical as what they are in Pokerogue since its very smooth there in my opinion.
The Demo looks really good, but for god’s sake, don't initiate a battle in high grass on the same tile after a fought battle. I was locked in one position for 7 fights straight... I can't move!

Great job! The art style is precious, although I'm having bad luck with the game: I can't do any fight since my pocket monster won't come out of the ball, so the fight doesn't start, even on version 77. Hope somehow it will get fixed :)!
A great game! In fact, I am a Chinese player, there are many people in China interested in this game, But unfortunately my English is not very good, so I would like to see in the official version or the next demo can be Chinese, Even if it's an AI translation. About a hour in on version 77, noticed that on Combusken his attack 'BOUNCE' will not work, just freezes after you go into the air and then you have soft reset the game. Also caught a Psyduck that was level 5 and its now level 30 and it hasn't learned any attacks yet.
Another thing I've noticed is when Pokemon learn a attack form leveling up, you cant see any info about the attack and if you choose to try to learn the move, you HAVE to get rid of a old attack. The game doesn't let you cancel learning a move it you change your mind.
Other then these couple of issues so far, the game looks amazing and I've enjoyed it so far.
I do want to mention how good this game is so far, even with the bugs that are included.
This game has met every expectation I was hoping to have for it and more. There are so many things done right.
Gameplay
The gameplay itself is amazing. The graphics look so good. All the little details you added like the beautifly flying around, leaves, wind, the pokemon running through the forest, etc. Your pokemon party showing on the home screen is awesome. Its super spacious. It would be even cooler with it filled in with items once the game releases.
The trainers are super fun to battle. Animations are great, the panning during the battle is great, everything about the battling is great. Throwing the balls and catch animations are cool.
I loved how difficult this was. The grass was actually kinda hard at some points. Some of the trainers I actually had to take time and grind to beat which I havent had to do in a pokemon game in 10 years, and it was a lot of fun.
The puzzles and layout of the game is really well done. The story was super fun to play. The ending was an awesome way to enter into the game. The pokemon look really good.
Shiny hunting is super fun. The soft reset is so fast and its really nice to be able to shiny hunt the starter quicker. I love that you added the ability to see the shiny in the box. The shimmer ball is really cool and love high the catch rate is.
The legendary / special encounters were cool. Getting achievements was fun. Shaymins area was really cool.
Overall
Definitely happy I played the Demo. Once all of the bugs are fixed, this game will be too much fun to play. Everything I hoped for was found in this demo and gets me excited to play the rest. Keep up the great work!
I got this error in v. 2.4.0.1 when trying to battle Mercenary Yior, trying to battle her again, will update if a restart fixed this error.
Edit: In my original run when I received this error, I actually clipped through the strength rocks under the bridge and never received the HM for Strength from the grunt. Upon reloading I couldn't clip through the strength rocks and did the proper order of battling the Grunt and getting HM04. Upon beating Larry and Sherry, after that I was able to successfully battle Mercenary Yior.
Encountered another very similar error when soft resetting during Mercenary Yior battle. The reason for the reset was because when I switched to Pikachu, after my Swampert hit red health, the issue of the UI disappearing still happened. I could not do anything and my only option was to soft reset, but that threw this error.
How do you update your version? Do we need to redownload it each time there is an update or is there a dedicated server that it is sent to and automatically updates when you open it?
Some bugs I noticed: Game freezes after multiple evolutions, even after one. Also, I had 15 wurmple encounters until I soft reset and then it went normal. Great game so far! Beautiful.
Overall, I would say that this game has so much potential. The graphics are stunning, and the story of this demo is superb (wish I could finish it, will get to it later). I love the fact that every attack has its own unique little gimmicky animation, it adds so much to the game and experience. The level curb is very steep (unless I was met with a weird glitch where every wild mon didn't surpass level 18 until way after the Mercenary Youri (I think?) fight.) I kinda circumvented a lot of these level issues by having the EXP share on, I didn't really care for farming for too long, never been a challenge player.
Onto some weird moments!
1) There was a weird incident where my character was blown off grid, as I was still able to move between loading screens and I just couldn't progress anymore (had to restart to my last save to fix it).
2) Another small glitch is that when you first enter the Ashen forest, that first patch of grass has pokemon at level 30, extremely higher than any other area, but they are coded with moves and EXP yield of their level 8 counterparts, and after capture won't learn any other moves even after evolving.
3) There seems to be an issue with the shop display, which doesn't scroll down to show all the items in it, and I was never able to find any Elixirs to recover my moves PPs, which led to me having to fight a lot of trainers with barely any moves.
4) And last, but certainly not least, I have been trying it out since the first version of the demo, and I was always met with bugs that would turn the game unplayable and just outright make me have to restart my PC to even be able to close the game. The most outrageous one was with the Mercenary battle, where the game would always crash at the beginning of the fight, it took me 3 tries before I could fight her and then my trainer got stuck without throwing my Swampert into battle. This was very annoying, given that it's a 2 phased battle before I could even attempt to fight her (and all the dialogue before it). And the last one was that I can't even soft reset the game anymore, as it gets stuck in loading and the game won't close, it prompts a crashing log to appear but the app won't close, so I have to restart my PC to even get out of it.
This game is fantastic, and it's very fun, but as of right now, I'm sort of tired of having to reset my laptop and soft reset the game to avoid getting stuck in animations.

Great game so far. However, I keep crashing at random times fighting Yior. Each error message identifies line 1438 in the code.
Another issue I just encountered was my sceptile turned into a treecko named bottle text and basically doesn't exist.
what's the minimun settings to play the game? my pc dont load it, it says something about my graphics card

How do I get my PS5 controller to connect? I've plugged it in and connected to Bluetooth, but the game wont recognize it.

Luckily I had an older save file because this one was completely busted afterward, as it loads right to the moment of entering the shadow realm.
It's not so bad, but I lost my poor Lombre 😔 Rip Homegirl, She had high Sp Atk, Atk, and Speed, but at least she's not alone in the shadow realm.
I just started over. I wasn't too far.

Battling with a controller is perfect now! first issue im still seeing is encounter rates. can barely pass the first patch of grass

I do want to mention how good this game is so far, even with the bugs that are included.

You drag your save file from the old folder to the new one. To find it its (extracted file name> Windows>Pokemon Emerald> Saved> SaveGames
