I saw a comment on the other website from where you can download the game how to launch it and start a new game without it crashing.
The different options were :
- Add it in Steam as a Non-steam game (also easier if you play with a controller thanks to Steam-input (from what I understood))
- Or if it shows "Fatal error: File:D:\build\++UE5\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\Core\Private\Windows\WindowsPlatformMisc.cpp] [Line: 439]", don't start the game that's named "PokemonEmerald.exe" when you first open the "windows" file. Instead, go to the file that says PokemonEmerald, Then go to binaries, then win64, Then you'll see "PokemonEmerald-Win64-Shipping.exe" in the win64. Run it as administrator and it should work! If it doesn't, relaunch it a few times and it'll work :)
And while you're playing : DON'T FORGET TO SAVE OFTEN, 'cause it's still a demo, and it crashes sometimes, and it doesn't save automatically

I do agree with the comment below that the option to lock the framerate would be nice as the GPU utilization on my 4070 ti Super is quite high. Otherwise, I patiently await more! This is really amazing work. I'm loving the original story so far and the free Beldum at the beginning is perfect. Metagross has always been one of my favorite Pokemon!
I found a softlock by accident while playing. If you save on a spot where a boulder would be, when you reload your game you'll be stuck inside of a boulder. You are able to call the HM pokemon, but you aren't able to move the boulder because your inside of it, as of right now my save is currently softlocked because of this!
The game is real good, but te usage of GPU is to high probably by the FPS with no limits, i se many simple games with simmilar problems. I think a limit on 60 FPS or 120 FPS must get a better performance with less usage of Video Memmory.
I've tried everything but I got this error message : "Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource" even before I can choose to be the boy or the girl. The game is using something like 4 Go of RAM. What can I do ?
I feel like wild pokémons are EVERYWHERE, like sometimes (happens a lot) i flee but cant even get out of the grass im in that i get another wild poké, this is kinda annoying sometimes
I actually got soft locked because of this. I opened the menu immediately after I finished a wild pokemon battle, and there was another encounter immediately. I didn't even move! So what happened next was that the menu was open during the battle! I could still fight but I couldn't close the menu...even after the battle was over. The only way I could fix it was by running back to the boat captain and talking to him.
The game has some VERY HIGH resource requirements, my poor video card goes up to abnormal temperatures every time I open the game and it stays that way the whole time I play, however this whole project is INCREDIBLE, waiting for the next version that I hope has improved resource management because the love in the details is evident.

Had a blast playing the demo despite the bugs (aka. growing pains) Loved the environments and general vibe of each area, can't wait to see more.
Criticism wise I'd ask to look into the encounter rate in the tall grass. Sometimes I was literally stuck in one patch getting encounter after encounter (Damn Poochyenas lol) That problem also makes shiny hunting with the charm pretty much impossible
Still, Gamma Emerald is awesome and you should be proud of yourself!

Just finished the demo and it’s been quite an enjoyable experience despite the frequent crashes and bugs.
I played it on the Steam Deck with Proton Experimental and it ran pretty well.
as for the frequent crashes as it mainly happened whenever i entered the Ashen Forest and rarely during prolonged fights, it was a decently enjoyable demo and amazing considering it was made by a single developer.
Absolutely looking forward to pay and play the full version!
as for the bugs:
- Unable to save settings.
- Getting “stuck” in single grass patches and being forced to fight random encounters multiple times.
- Being able to cross hills without the stairs and getting stuck there or going over lava and getting there.
- Wrong biome names frequently pop up (e.g. If i was in the Ashen Forest it would randomly pop up the Mysterious Island logo multiple times).
- Overlapping pokemons during fights.
- Song cut outs during fights (rare)
- Pokemon/trainers/Health bar/Action options disappearing mid fight and sometimes reappearing in between actions.
- (Since this was on the Steam Deck it might be an issue on the device compatibility with the game but not sure) Dpad button getting “possessed” and going all over the place or getting stuck in all sorts of menu options and during fights.
Love the whole vibe, looks, music, everything about this Cant get very far due to game stopping bugs, any plans for some kind of bug report feature, would love to do my little part to help out. Keep up the great work :D
I do not know why but my encounters in the grass have been constant. Sometimes I can't even leave the grass square I am in before another encounter starts. On top of that, I have had a few visual glitches where the summary tab stays open when I switch out a pokemon, and some minor UI issues like controller not working until I use keyboard for a bit, but otherwise so far it is a visually stunning game. Can't wait to see what happens!

First of all, I love it a lot <3 That's exactly how I always wished Pokemon Games to be :3
Found the following issues:
in the intro scene on the boat, i have text overlapping each other. (old dialog (whats your name?) with the follow up text
when in a fight and look for another pokemons attacks, the fight in the background did not lose focused, but you can't see anything due to the attack summary of the other pokemon overlapping it now. Also it is hard to go back from there (maybe add a back button there or something like this?) Clicking B has not worked there all the time.
After return to the fight, the menu disappeared after one more round, leaving me stuck in the fight (needed to restart)
And it was possible during a fight tolost focus on the fight menu at all, like using the direction buttons (left, right, etc), that was confusing and hard to come back to the buttons having focus again
But I really love the lighting, and the animations a lot already. The fights were fun and the attacks looked so cool. I'm already more than excited to hopefully someday play the complete game. I hope this feedback was a bit helpful for you :)
for me the following helped: when being in the main menu, make the window fullscreen using the fullscreen button of the windows top right menu buttons, after that a new game could be created without problems for me without crashing. Hope that helps
Just as information, starting a new game crashed it for me with the following error: pure virtual function being called while application was running (gisrunning == 1)
It worked when using the windows fullscreen button in the upper right corner though.
Anyone else experiencing a bug where you get stuck in a wild Pokémon encounter loop especially when going to the right? I can't progress in the game right now because of this, wondering if there's a solution?

the controls just aren't working for me, keyboard works a little but I can't move and my controller doesn't work at all for whatever reason

Same here, I have to hold the directional key to move before the screen loads to get out sometimes.
It is a reoccurring bug for everyone. This project is buggy and hasn't been touched in a bit
